inn, built in the l840's, reflects the genteel elegance and
southern hospitality of its time.
The Shelby Mercantile,
was the focal point of commerce in Shelby, TX. including the post
office, opened in l846, a saloon and the phone company. Guests can
enjoy a peaceful stroll through the beautiful outdoor gardens and
walkways connecting the five individually unique farmhouses for

The Shelby School House, Henry’s House, and The

Mattie's Homestead
is a large 3 bedroom, two story 1900's farmhouse with a
newly renovated open country kitchen. Come and relax and
enjoy the Texas country scenery on the covered front porch
at Henry's House.
Guest staying at The Shelby
School House, built in the
l880's, will enjoy the open beamed ceiling and loft. The
Shelby Carriage House,
with its private balcony overlooking the gardens and wedding
chapel, makes this a favorite for newlyweds.
The Shelby Farmhouse
is a quaint two story l890's farmhouse with a spacious
bedroom upstairs furnished with wonderful iron beds.
